Making the VOXBOX® PRIDE EDITION Front Panels

To make our super-custom VOXBOX® 2021 PRIDE EDITION faceplates, we bought a commercial UV printer specifically to run these panels (and we’ll probably replace some silk screening operations with this process too).

For those who are interested: It’s a Roland VersaUV LEF-200 ink printer. It uses 6 heads: CMYK plus a clear and a white dedicated feed. The clear can be laid on as gloss or matte. We run an undercoat of white under the color. We do a final gloss spot varnish over the MANLEY VOXBOX logo. The inks are instantly cured by UV light as they are set down, and we laid down an additional matte varnish layer over the color to make it even more durable and long-lasting. Each faceplate takes about 30 minutes to run all the layers.

It was a major process learning about this machine, its specialty software, and how to design the artwork layers for each process. We are proud of these faceplates, and proud of our VOXBOX PRIDE!
